MORRISTOWN, NJ — Rockaway Borough resident Andrew Ryan Hendershot, 32, was arrested February 28 on suspicion of sending sexually explicit messages to an undercover officer posing as a minor, police said.

The case originated with a tip from the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Upon learning the suspect is a Rockaway Borough resident, Polk County alerted the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, who recruited the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for assistance.

He is also accused of having asked and agreed to meet with the officer, believing her to be the 13-year-old she portrayed.
