Armed Morris Co. Man Led Police On Car Chase, Cops Say
The suspect now faces drug, weapon, and traffic-related charges.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — An armed Morris County man was arrested recently after leading police on a car chase, according to authorities.
A motor vehicle stop turned into a car chase that resulted in several traffic, weapon, and drug charges, Mountain Lakes police announced on Monday.
On Sept. 28, around 2:30 p.m., police spotted David Kubach, 49, of Boonton, committing an unspecified traffic violation while driving on Essex Avenue in Boonton, authorities said. When a police officer pulled him over, Kubach sped off, officials said.

A police pursuit began, and the chase ended on Route 287 south, where Kubach was arrested.
He was found to be in possession of a gun, as well as drugs, according to police.

Kubach was charged with driving while suspended, eluding a law enforcement officer, possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession of a weapon with prior convictions, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
He was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility to await court proceedings, officials said.
