Artisanal Gelato Shop Shuts Its Doors Suddenly In Morristown

The recently opened artisanal gelato shop, Il Laboratorio del Gelato, has unexpectedly closed its Morristown location.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Another ice cream shop bites the dust on Morristown's South Street, as Il Laboratorio del Gelato abruptly shuts down this week.

Il Laboratorio del Gelato, the artisanal shop that took over the 64 South Street space once occupied by Guerriero Gelato, has shut down for good, leaving the storefront empty and no official word on what’s next.

The news, first reported on social media by residents who noticed the shop's Google listing marked 'temporarily closed,' was confirmed by officials at Il Laboratorio del Gelato. They stated the Morristown location had closed for good and encouraged customers to visit their other locations in Montclair, Hoboken, and Manhattan.
