Black Bear Tranquilized, Safely Removed From Morristown Green
Bruin napped in tree, delighted crowd for hours Monday.

Black bear, that is.
The woodland animal made its way up a tree Monday afternoon outside the Century 21 store, Lt. Stuart Greer told Patch, and hung out there to the delight of many onlookers.

“Officers have it contained and are waiting for the arrival of the Office of Fish and Wildlife,” Greer said. early in the day. “In the meantime, for the safety of the animal and the public, we are asking people to stay away from the area so we can bring this to a successful resolution.”
The bear attempted to make his way down shortly after 2 p.m., according to spectator Beth Mund, and said the animal doesn’t seem to know how to exit the tree.

Just after 3 p.m. the Department of Environmental Protection tranquilized the bear and safely lowered him to the ground, according to ABC7.
