MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Morristown Police Bureau is searching for a man who reportedly pointed a gun at a mail carrier in the vicinity of Manahan Village last week.

Police Capt. Keith Cregan said that the incident occurred on Oct. 26 at approximately 6:15 p.m. in the area of Clyde Potts Court.

The accused assailant is described as 5-foot-11, of medium build, and between the ages of 30 and 40. The inquiry is still ongoing, and no further information has been revealed.

According to a report by the MorristownGreen, residents on Clyde Potts Drive and Flagler Street have since received a flier informing them that mail service will be suspended on their streets for the time being.

The Postal Service is now requiring those residents to pick up their mail at the Morristown Post Office on Ridgedale Avenue.

"The safety of our mail carriers is our number one priority," the sign read.
