Gunman Loose After Morris County Motel Shooting, Police Say

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Authorities are searching for a gunman accused of shooting a man while at the Roxbury Motel on Wednesday evening.

According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, at approximately 8:54 p.m., authorities were notified that a man had been shot while at the motel, located on Route 46 in Roxbury.

When police arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg and offered emergency medical care. The victim, whose identity has not been released by authorities, was brought to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The gunman fled the scene immediately after the shooting, police said.

Carroll said that the investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing.

Members of the Roxbury Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are participating in this investigation.
