Jets Player Targeted In NJ Armed Robbery: Report
Police said they believe the robbery victims were "targeted and followed from Manhattan." Neighbors saw it happen Saturday morning:
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Armed robbers followed a New York Jets player 30 miles from Manhattan to Morristown and stole his belongings on a residential street, according to officials and a report.
Neighbors said the unidentified NFL player was one of two people robbed on Saturday morning, at around 8 a.m. A resident in the Windmill Pond community told NBC New York she saw three men get out of SUVs with guns, and realized there was a robbery in progress.
"To be honest, I cannot make sense of what happened," said the woman, who did not wish to be identified.

Morristown Police said the robbers approached the victims while they were in another vehicle, then took money and personal items before fleeing. No one was reportedly injured.
Officials said they believe this was an isolated incident, and that the victims were "targeted and followed" from New York. Investigating officers interviewed witnesses and canvassed the area for any security footage, per police.

Authorities have not announced any arrests, or provided suspect information at this time. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office is also participating in the investigation, but did not have further details to share with Patch on Friday morning.

Back in November, the National Football League warned players about an organized criminal ring that targeted homes of professional athletes, including the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, and quarterback Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. Seven Chilean nationals have been charged in those crimes.
