Man Indicted For Allegedly Robbing Morristown Hospital Parking Attendant

Tyhan Lighty was arrested in June 2015 after being on the run for more than 11 months.

The Orange man accused of the armed robbery of a Morristown Medical Center parking lot attendant in 2014 has been indicted on four counts by a Grand Jury, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced.

Tyhan Lighty, 44, was indicted Thursday on counts of robber, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to have weapons.

Lighty is accused of possessing a handgun while robbing a parking lot employee at the hospital on May 18, 2014 just before 11 a.m. Lighty allegedly fled the scene after the incident.

Nearly a year later, on May 4, Lighty was named the suspect in the incident and charged by way of warrant complaints. On June 18, 2015, Lighty was arrested in East Orange and lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
