Mayo Performing Arts Center Holding Holiday Food Drive For Community Soup Kitchen

The drive will run from Nov. 22-Dec. 24. Donations will be accepted during business hours and at shows, according to a press release.

MORRISTOWN, N.J.– The Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) is hosting its annual food drive from Nov. 22– Dec. 24 to benefit the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown.

Donations may be dropped off during regular business hours – 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Saturday – or at shows, according to a press release from MPAC.

  • Cans of soup/chili/stew;
  • Low sugar cereal;
  • Individual packets of nuts or trail mix;
  • Canned chicken and tuna;
  • Toiletries (shampoo, razors, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes,toothpaste);
  • Hats;
  • Gloves;
  • Scarves;
  • Thermal undergarments;
  • White tube socks.

“MPAC is proud to work with Community Soup Kitchen to help provide necessary food and supplies to those individuals in need,” said Allison Larena, president and chief executive officer. “We encourage our patrons to help us in this effort to make the holiday season a joyous time for everyone.”

According to its website, CSK provides "nutritious meals in a warm, safe and caring environment, free of charge, no questions asked, to anyone who comes seeking nourishment."

Last year, CSK served over 58,000 meals and provided more than 425,000 pounds of food to guests, according to the press release.
