Morris Co. House Fire Kills 1, Hospitalizes Another, Police Say
Police have identified the victim, whose body was found in a bedroom after the fire was contained.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A woman is dead after a fire tore through a Morris County home this weekend, according to officials.
On Saturday, around 2 a.m., first responders were called to a home on Lyman Avenue in Pequannock on reports of a house fire.
According to officials, two residents were able to escape the burning home, but 55-year-old Christine Francescone was trapped inside.

After the fire had been contained, officials found Francescone’s body in one of the home’s bedrooms.
One of the residents was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but no foul play is suspected at this time, officials said.
