Morris Co. Man Stabbed North Jersey Man To Death, Cops Say

The suspect called 9-1-1 after the fatal stabbing took place, officials said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County man has been arrested for stabbing another man to death in North Jersey, according to prosecutors.

Justin J. Wilhelm, 25, of Roxbury Township, was arrested Thursday after police found him to be responsible for a fatal stabbing in Bergen County early that morning, authorities said.

Around 3 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to a New Milford home on River Road after Wilhelm called 9-1-1 to report the stabbing, officials said.

New Milford police found Wilhelm on the front steps of the residence with what appeared to be blood on his hands, according to authorities.

Officers investigated the property and found that 24-year-old Mateo Ocho-Gonzalez, of New Milford, had been stabbed multiple times in his chest and neck, police said.

Ocho-Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation revealed that Wilhelm had been responsible for the stabbing, according to officials. Authorities added that Wilhelm had drugs on him at the time of the incident.

Wilhelm was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and placed in police custody.

The 25-year-old is charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of narcotics, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
