Morris Poll Worker Told Voters Booths Were Separated by Political Party
Complaint alleges Morris Twp. polling place was forcing voters into specific booths.

A poll worker in Morris Township told voters the booths in which they were casting ballots were separated by political party on Election Day.
Morris County Superintendent of Elections Dale Kramer told Patch a complaint was filed around 7 a.m. on Nov. 3 with the board of elections regarding the issue, and county officials immediately responded to the location to address the situation.
“Our voting technicians responded and retrained the newer poll worker on the laws,” Kramer said. “We’re unable to tell if the mistake made any impact on results.”

While the Convent Station location is just one of 11 polling places in the township, the votes for four candidates seeking two seats on the local governing body were separated by only 80 tallies between the highest and lowest vote-getters.
Incumbent Republican committeemen Bruce Sisler and Matheu Nunn won the seats with 2,236 and 2,270 votes, respectively, besting their Democratic challengers Jeff Grayzel (2,207) and Cathy Wilson (2,190), according to the Morris County Clerk’s office.

According to morristowngreen.com, those figures were not the original final tallies, as Republican officials met with clerk Ann Grossi behind closed doors around 11 p.m. The report stated Grayzel had a one-vote lead over Nunn before the confidential meeting. Grayzel said he’ll be seeking a recount, the report said.
