MORRISTOWN, NJ — The 2023 general election is upon us, and the polls open at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Here is what Morristown voters need to know before they hit the polls.

Who is on the ballot?

The Morristown Council will witness a change in this year's election cycle, as Councilman Stefan Armington has decided not to run for re-election to a fourth term in the Third Ward.

Morristown Council President Sandi Mayer was also defeated in the primary election for the nomination to represent the Fourth Ward by her opponent, Christopher Russo.

Ward 1:

  • Robert Iannaccone

Ward 2:

  • Tina Lindsey

Ward 3:

  • Steven Pylypchuk

Ward 4:

  • Bruce Meringolo
  • Christopher Russo

School Board Elections:

Four candidates have announced their intention to run for three open Morris School District Board of Education seats, according to the Morris County Clerk.

Here's who's running to fill them and their slogans:

  • Meredith Davidson – Strong Schools
  • Elisabeth Wall – For every child
  • Alan Smith (no slogan selected)
  • Arielle Shack – Education First

Smith, Davidson and Wall are all incumbents on the board. The three winning candidates will serve a 3-year term on the Board of Education.

    • Aura Dunn (R)
    • Christian Barranco (R)
    • Jonathan Torres (D)
    • Diane Salvatore (D)
  • State Senate:
    • Anthony Bucco (R)
    • Christine Clarke (D)
  • County Commissioner:
    • Tayfun Selen (R)
    • Jonathan Sackett (D)
  • County Clerk:
    • Ann Grossi (R)
    • Caroline (Carrie) O'Brien (D)

Where Can I Vote?

Those looking for a drop box can use any in Morris County.

Residents can deposit their ballots approximately 45 days prior to each election. All ballot drop boxes will be closed at 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The ballot drop boxes are all located outside and are constantly monitored. They look like USPS Blue Mailboxes, but they're red, white, and blue, and they say "Morris County – Official Ballot Drop Box," officials said.

The Vote-By-Mail ballots (VBMs) will be picked up on a daily basis and brought to the Board of Elections. All security measures will be followed when collecting and transporting the VBMs, officials said.
