Morristown-Based Child Advocacy Center Receives $10,000 Donation
The Ed Block Courage Award Foundation donated $10,000 to the Morristown-based child advocacy center.

MORRISTOWN, N.J.– Deidre's House, a child advocacy center located in Morristown, received a $10,000 donation from the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation.
The N.Y. Jets designated the center to be the organization's "Courage House" – a facility that provides support and quality care for abused children and their families in that community – according to a press release from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.
Deidre's House was designated on Tuesday and received a $10,000 donation, Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said.

According to its website, the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to raising awareness and prevention for abused, neglected, and at risk children.
Members of the Jets organization – including safety Rontez Miles –representatives of the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation, the prosecutor and members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit were in attendance.

Deidre's House was founded in 1994 and is the only site in Morris County where a child victim can be
interviewed and digitally recorded by law enforcement, medically examined and treated by a pediatric abuse
specialist, prepared for trial, and clinically counseled, Knapp said.
“One of the many goals of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is prosecuting those who injure our children," he added. "Deirdre’s House provides a necessary platform towards that goal."
