“Morristown First” Ticket Cruises To Victory In Election
Dougherty, who has served as Morristown's mayor since 2010, took victory alongside his three running mates, unofficial results show.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Once again, Democrat Tim Dougherty has seized the position of Morristown’s mayor, a position he’s held since 2010.
Joining him in victory were fellow Democrat Councilmembers Toshiba Foster, Nathan Umbriac, and David Silva.
The quartet ran under the slogan “Morristown First,” beating Republican challengers, as well as one Independent mayoral candidate.

Mayoral Race
On the ballot was Democrat incumbent Tim Dougherty, who has served as Morristown’s mayor for 15 years.

Republican challenger Bruce Meringolo was also on the ballot, bringing experience as the Mayor of Long Hill Township.
Finally, running independently was local business owner and Morristown Planning Board member Andrea Lekberg.

*Dougherty, Democrat — 3,026 votes (58.75%)
Meringolo, Republican — 1,321 votes (25.65%)
Lekberg, Independent — 798 votes (15.49%)
An unofficial total of 5,151 votes were cast in Morristown’s Mayoral Election, according to the Morris County Clerk’s Office. There were six write-in votes.
Council Race
All three Democratic incumbents were more than able to hold their own against three Republican newcomers in Morristown’s Council race.

*Toshiba Foster, Democrat — 3,144 votes (21.88%)
*Nathan Umbriac, Democrat — 3,207 votes (22.31%)
*David Silva, Democrat — 3,240 votes (22.54%)
Andrew Delaney, Republican — 1,671 votes (11.63%)
Celeste Kaitsa, Republican — 1,554 votes (10.81%)
Aaron Oliver, Republican — 1,543 votes (10.71%)
An unofficial total of 14,372 votes were cast in Morristown’s council race. There were 13 write-in votes.
All results are unofficial until certified by the county clerk.
