Morristown Man Charged With Attempted Murder Takes Deal, Faces 5 Years: Report
Brandon Johnson pleaded guilty to possession of a handgun, report says.

Morristown, N.J. – The Morristown man charged with attempted murder stemming from a January 2014 burglary pleaded guilty to unlawful possession in a deal offered by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Brandon Johnson, now 25, will face five up to five years in prison after taking the plea, dailyrecord.com reported. Johnson was indicted on first-degree attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting another man during a drug deal gone bad on Lincoln Street in Morristown.

Police responded to an incident on Lincoln Street on Jan. 31, 2014 after a call was made at 5:20 p.m. for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. During the call it was reported that there was “severe bleeding to the leg,” and later learned there had been a shooting.
Johnson was indicted just two months later.

In addition to the plea deal, Johnson has been released from the Morris County Jail and will be supervised through probation, the report said.
