May Recognized as Mental Health Month by Morristown
Members of the Morris County Mental Health Association were on hand to receive the certificate.

Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty has proclaimed May as Mental Health Month.
Mental Health Association of Morris County's Tracey Cappiccille, and Madine Despeine, were on hand to accept the proclamation certificate.
“May is mental health month … It’s an opportunity for the country to recognize all the issues with mental health and that 1 in 4 individuals suffer from mental illness,” said Cappiccille.

“Also, what’s important is this stigma that surrounds it that people are embarrassed or ashamed and they don’t go for help because of this. I think it’s important to break through the stigma and continue to provide compassion to people struggling with mental illness and to bring attention to the methods that are making their lives better.”
