Morristown Medical Center Among America's Top Hospitals

Morristown Medical Center was named one of America's best hospitals by Healthgrades – making the "Best 50" and "Best 100" lists.

MORRISTOWN, N.J.– Morristown Medical Center was named one of America's best hospitals by Healthgrades, as announced in a press release.

MMC was selected as one of the "Best 50" for cardiac surgery and "Best 100" for cardiac care , orthopedic surgery and joint replacement care, said Public Relations Manager Elaine Andrecovich.

The medical center was the only hospital in New Jersey named to the ‘America’s 50 Best Hospitals’ list earlier this year, Andrecovich said.

MMC also received 19 quality and clinical recognition in areas including gastroenterology pulmonology, baratric surgery, and critical care, according to Andrecovich.

“We are pleased that the patients, families, and communities that rely on Morristown Medical Center for their health care have further evidence of our daily commitment to quality and safety measures,” said Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, president of Morristown Medical Center. “Any time that a patient and family comes to the medical center, it can be an unsettling time. This national recognition helps patients instill trust and confidence in our medical and clinical staff as they continue to deliver exceptional patient care.”

Healthgrades evaluated approximately 45 million Medicare inpatient records for nearly 4,500 short-term acute care hospitals nationwide, the press release states.

The hospitals' performances were assessed "relative to each of 32 common conditions and procedures," according to the release.
