The purpose of the event was to spread awareness to younger people in the area about Homeless Solutions.
After the ribbon cutting early May of their new Morristown apartment building, hosted an inaugural kickball tournament this past Saturday.
Homeless Solutions’ Kickin’ It for a Cause Kickball Tournament took place at Loantaka Park in Morristown despite the cloudy skies and slight drizzle.
“I think it’s a fun day,” said Betsy Hall, CEO/President. “The Young Leaders Group holds a couple events a year in order to get young people involved in Homeless Solutions, people who have time and energy to help out. Things will build and we’ll get more people together in the future.”

“We’re going to try to make this annual. We’re going to see how it goes. Seems like everyone’s having fun,” said Chris Ponnwitz, a volunteer with Homeless Solutions. “This isn’t meant to raise a lot of money. It’s more to bring awareness. We have a lot of young people here today”
Homeless Solutions unveiled their new apartment building on MLK Avenue on May 2, which features six, environmentally friendly apartments for low-income households. For members of the community, the apartment building is designed to provide a healthier living environment and to reduce utility for HSI and their tenants.
