Morristown Is One Of New Jersey's Happiest Towns, Study Says
Using census data, HomeSnacks experts discovered that Morristown is one of the happiest of the 265 major towns in New Jersey.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown was named one of the happiest towns to live in New Jersey, according to a new list released by HomeSnacks, a website dedicated to analyzing data to share information about towns across the country.
Their latest analysis, The 10 Happiest Cities In New Jersey For 2024, concluded that out of New Jersey's 265 largest cities, Morristown is the second happiest, only beaten by Ocean City.
"Things look to be pretty pleasant in Morristown," HomeSnacks said.

More than 11 percent of residents are married, and there is a thriving amount of community involvement, according to the website.
"Studies have shown that a key factor to happiness is when people volunteer, especially in their own neighborhoods," HomeSnacks said.

Morristown's low crime rates also make it a plus, HomeSnacks said. The overall crime rate in Morristown is -50.69 percent below the national average, according to the website.
HomeSnacks used census data to determine the rankings, focusing on the following:
- Percentage of residents with a college degree
- Average commute times
- Unemployment rates
- Cost of living
- Percentage of married couples
- Percentage of families with kids
- Poverty rate
According to HomeSnacks, the median home price in Morristown is $772,172. A previous report from the National Low Income Housing Coalition stated that in Morristown, the fair-market rent for a one-bedroom home was $1,930. For a two-bedroom home, that price goes up to $2,320.
Morristown also has a poverty rate of 11.1 percent, contributing to its high ranking. HomeSnacks gave the city an 8 out of 10 for "overall SnackAbility."
