Morristown Student Honored For Outstanding Musical Talent
The Morristown student was honored at the Mayo PAC this week for their brass instrument skills.

A student from Morristown was one of several honored by the Mayo Performing Arts Center as an November Music Student Of The Month for being an outstanding brass player
Alex Yip, a 10th grader from Morristown High School, was honored on stage before the Nov. 26 concert at Mayo PAC. All the students were nominated by their teachers and chosen by Mayo PAC's education department. At the end of the year, all honored students will be invited to perform in a recital.

Alex has been involved in many aspects of the Music Department and he has become a respected upperclassman to the younger students. He performs on Trumpet in the Morristown HS Wind Ensemble. He has also performed in the Solo and Small Ensemble Concert. Last year as a freshman Alex successfully auditioned for the Region 1 Junior High School Jazz Ensemble and Region 1 Junior High School Concert Band and the Region I High School Wind Ensemble. He possesses a great desire and works very hard to achieve his goals.
