Pastries, Matcha, And More: New Café Coming To Morristown

The founder of Morristown's Apricot Dried Fruits & Nuts is launching a new spot, bringing a fresh lineup of sweet treats to town.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Something sweet—and a little green—is coming to Morristown, as a new café gets ready to open its doors, promising delicious pastries and creamy matcha.

From the creator of Morristown’s Apricot Dried Fruits & Nuts, the popular South Street coffee shop, Semih Ozkaya is expanding his local footprint with his newest venture: The Meltique.

Set to open later this year, The Meltique will take over a storefront at 174 South Street, offering a menu of waffles, crêpes, and a variety of matcha-based drinks, officials said.

"Since the day I opened Apricot Dried Fruits & Nuts at 166 South St., you’ve been by my side," Ozkaya said in a message to the community. "You’ve welcomed me, supported my small business, and helped me grow something truly special. I can’t thank you enough for that."

The opening of The Meltique doesn’t signal the end for Apricot, Ozkaya confirmed, emphasizing that this is not a goodbye, but rather a 'hello again' as he plans to pour his energy into both locations.
