Protestors Will Take To Morristown Streets For 'No Kings' Anti-Trump Rally
Communities across the country are expected to take part in the "No Kings" rallies this Saturday.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — A rally protesting authoritarian rule and the Trump administration is scheduled to take place in Morristown this Saturday—coinciding, perhaps not so coincidentally, with both Flag Day and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
“No Kings” protests are expected to take place in communities across the country this weekend, with local advocacy groups, leaders, and others taking to the streets in response to the "increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration."
Morristown’s rally, sponsored by the Morris County Democratic Committee, will take place this Saturday, June 14, at Morristown Town Hall, 200 South Street, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Also sponsoring the protest are Planned Parenthood Action Fund of NJ, NJ 11th for Change, and New Jersey Citizen Action.

“We have to fight back against leaders who overstep their authority; defy court rulings; and ignore the Constitution,” said Morris County Democratic Committee Chairwoman Amalia Duarte. “We are rallying in support of our democratic values and to reinforce our national heritage grounded in making a break with Kings and monarchs.”
The nonviolent demonstration will feature music and speakers who represent “leaders, experts, and people whose everyday lives are impacted by the destruction of livelihoods, gutting of public services, and the bullying/ fearmongering rhetoric,” according to organizers.

This protest comes just weeks after more than 1,000 people turned out for Morristown’s “HandsOff!” Rally back in April, another protest against Trump, Elon Musk, and federal budget cuts.
“After the success of the HandsOff! Rally, we were incredibly moved and motivated to keep moving forward. We know that folks are just as fired up as we are, and if we can all agree on one thing, it’s that in America, we don’t do kings,” said organizers Dana Levens and Cendahl Cornellio-Alter. “We haven’t come this far just to go back, so let’s show up for each other and get into this fight, a modern-day, peaceful revolution for our freedoms as we’ve been privileged until now to know them.”
