Parsippany Teacher Sent Sexual Messages To 14-Year-Old: Prosecutor
The Morris County Prosecutor's Office charged James Wiegand, 43, on Thursday.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — A 43-year-old teacher from Sparta was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child Thursday after exchanging sexual messages with a minor, according to officials.
James Wiegand, who was suspended from his position as a teacher at Parsippany High School, is accused of engaging in inappropriate conversations online with a 14-year-old student, officials said.
He also sent sexual and suggestive messages to a student on Instagram from September 2024 through November 2024, according to authorities.

Wiegand has been released under pre-trial supervision with the conditions including no unsupervised contact with minor children.
A court date has been scheduled for April 21.
