Second Stolen Morris County Car Recovered in Newark
Police investigating credit card theft locate stolen vehicle parked on Newark street.

For the second time in a week, a stolen vehicle from a Morris County neighborhood was recovered by police in Newark.
Morris Township police were investigating the use of a stolen credit card taken from a vehicle on East Cove Lane which turned up in Newark, police said. During the investigation a BMW that was also stolen from the same Morris Township street was located parked and unoccupied on the Newark street, police said.
The vehicle was reported stolen from Morris Township on Oct. 24.

Subpoenas have been issued for surveillance in the area with the hopes of finding where the credit card was used to identify a potential suspect, police said.
Morris Township police remind residents to always take valuables out of the car, lock doors, and be sure to not leave keys inside the vehicle.

Earlier this week Mendham Township police announced a vehicle that was stolen from a driveway in town on Oct. 28 was also recovered in Newark thanks to a joint investigation between local police departments.
That vehicle was a 2013 Audi SUV. Mendham Township police said several high-end vehicles had been stolen in recent weeks from Morris and Somerset Counties.
