Sherrill Announces First Town Hall Of Her Congressional Term

Democratic Congresswoman-elect Mikie Sherrill will hold a town hall in mid-January.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Congresswoman-elect Mikie Sherrill has announced her first town hall, to be held shortly after she takes office in January.

In a prerecorded video, Sherrill said the town hall will be held the week of January 14, depending on the Congressional schedule. More details will be announced when they are available. Sherrill will be sworn in on Jan. 3.

Holding regular town halls was a promise of the Sherrill campaign, who criticized retiring Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen for his lack of transparency towards the end of his decades long career. Instead of traditional town halls, Frelinghuysen held "tele-town halls"during his last term in office. Those conference calls were widely lambasted for excluding constituents.
