There's a bunch of stuff on the Jan. 10 Town Council agenda. From grant applications, to holiday contest winners, to the first meeting for the newest council member. Here are five items to keep on your radar before heading over (the entire agenda also accompanies this story).
- You Need to Know About St. Patrick's Day: Are we talking about that already? Has it been almost a year? Time flies. Anyway, the official request to hold the 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade of Morris County on Saturday, March 10 (with a rain date of March 24), will be addressed at the meeting. - You Need to Know About Holiday Decorating Contest Winners: The winners were announced in December, and now will get their honors during the council meeting.
- You Need to Know About Community Development Block Grant Applications: Three are being submitted, including one for the acquisition of 18 Willow St., for improvements to Pocahontas Dam and one for the repair and rehab of 1 Mount Kemble Ave., Block 6003, Lot 15.
- You Need to Know About 2011 Storm Damages: How could anyone forget? A written report on damages sustained specifically to town parks by the storms will be discussed during the meeting.
- You Need to Know About 2011 Storm Damages 2, Electric Boogaloo: Speaking of 2011 storms. There is a resolution up for adoption calling for "improved storm response from JCP&L after August 2011’s and October 2011’s ."
Bonus Thing: A New Councilmember: Stefan Armington was elected to Town Council , and . The Jan. 10 Town Council meeting, however, will be his first official meeting on the dais. So, be sure to wish him well.
