This Week: Dancing, Books and Animals, Oh My!

Mark your calendars.

Welcome to Tuesday, Morristown.

For some of you, it's the beginning of the work week. So, we thought we would give you a heads up on some items of interest coming over the next four days. Because, we care.

  1. You Need to Know About Animals: Animals, animals, animals. Like a nature documentary, only you can be right in the midst of the ... animals! will host a special event from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, in conjunction with The Raptor Trust, Mercer County Wildlife Center and St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center. Animals!
  2. You Need to Know About Macculloch Hall's Civil War Christmas Open House: The historical center has limited hours, so your opportunities to check this out before the display shuts down at the end of January are fewer than you might think.
  3. You Need to Know About 'Let's Dance:' No, not this timeless classic, though that will get us dancing anytime. is offering a free ballroom and Latin dance session from 7:45 to 9 p.m. on Thursday for newcomers. Includes a Champagne toast (it's like New Year's all over again!).
  4. Are you a fan of the work of author Sabina Murray? Read the book? Neither, but still interested in meeting fellow bookies for an evening of coffee and conversation? This short story collection is the January selection for "Book Club @ ," meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
  5. You Need to Know About the Fifth Thing: What is the fifth thing, you ask? We were about to ask the same question. If you know of some great events happening this week in Morristown that are not on our calendar, let us know in the comments below. Or, better yet, add them to the calendar!
