'Tirelessly:' This Family Helped Feed Morristown's Most Needy

MORRISTOWN, NJ— When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Shari Ramirez, who nominated Bedoya family of Morristown. The family operates Chef Fredy's Table in Morristown.

Hero's job: Volunteer

Relationship to nominee: Through volunteering with HelpMorris Now and their restaurant Chef Fredy's Table

Reason for recognition: They organized what turned out to be more than just a food dIstribution drive. They started HelpMorrisNow as a way to collect and distribute food to those who were affected by COVID-19. It turned into a huge community undertaking!

One thing to know: They worked tirelessly three days a week with a team of volunteers to make sure some of the most needy in Morristown had food and other supplies that they needed. All this while going to work to keep their restaurant open with only carry out!
