Wayne Man, Teacher, Sexually Assaulted His Student For A Year, Police Say
Officials said the suspect assaulted the student on "multiple occasions" over the previous school year.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Wayne man who taught at a Morris County high school has been arrested after an investigation revealed he had sexually assaulted one of his students, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
William Arnold, 53, worked as a music teacher at Pequannock High School.
This month, law enforcement officials received a tip that Arnold had been inappropriate with a student, authorities said.

An investigation revealed that he had sexually assaulted his student “multiple times” over the previous school year, who was 15-16 years old at the time.
Arnold was suspended from the school district. He’s been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, endangering the welfare of a child, and official misconduct.

Records show that Arnold has been working for the Pequannock Township School District since 2020. He had an annual salary of $60,161.
