Arrests in Newark Yield Several Guns
Incident early Monday led to three more arrests, Newark police say.

Newark police early Monday arrested four men and recovered several firearms, Sgt. Ron Glover said.
Officers from the major crimes unit reportedly saw Newark resident Charles Johnson, 28, point a shotgun into a vehicle around 6:30 am. While they arrested Johnson, police learned of a second vehicle possibly containing weapons, Glover said.
The vehicle was stopped along the 300 block of South Orange Avenue after a description was broadcast. Officers recovered a handgun and revolver and arrested the occupants, Mustafa Webb and Idris Perry, both 30-year-old Newark residents, Glover said.

Investigation into this incident led police to North Munn Avenue, where they arrested Dion Jackson,, 41, of East Orange. Jackson was allegedly in possession of a loaded handgun and narcotics, Glover said.
Johnson was charged with aggravated assault and weapons possession. Webb and Perry were both charged with robbery and weapons possession. Jackson was charged with weapons possession and narcotics offenses.
