Baraka's Business Blueprint and a Veteran Educator Honored
The week ahead on Newark Patch.

This week is the last gasp of the summer season, the final week leading up to the Labor Day holiday. But there’s still news to report in Brick City.
This week we’ll be covering the dedication of the main building at Essex County College in honor of Dr. A. Zachary Yamba, the longest-serving president in the state’s higher education system, who was at the helm of ECC for 29 years until his retirement in March 2010. Yamba is now president emeritus.
Also this week, we’ll be writing about South Ward Councilman Ras Baraka’s plan for Newark’s economic growth. The South Ward resident is running for mayor of Newark next year.
