City of Newark Offering Free Flu Shots

Vaccinations offered at locations throughout the city until Oct. 23.

Mayor Cory A. Booker and Department of Child and Family Well-Being Director L’Tanya L. Williamson announced that the City of Newark is providing free influenza vaccinations, through Wednesday, Oct. 23, at sites around the city. Newark residents seeking flu shots must present proof of residency at the sites, which can be personal identification or a utility bill with their name and address on it.

“I urge all Newark residents, especially those who suffer from chronic medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, lung or heart disease, to protect themselves by utilizing these free vaccinations. By being proactive, we can prevent the spread of the flu virus and stay healthier as a community,” said Booker. “Protect yourself and protect your loved ones. Get your flu shot today.”
