Essex County College Hiring Teachers and a March to Preserve School District Jobs
What's going on in Newark Tuesday, Aug. 20

Essex County College, 303 University Ave., is holding a job fair Tuesday for adjunct professors in a variety of subjects, including social sciences, biology and chemistry, bilingual studies and engineering technologies. Most positions require at least a master’s degree and possibly additional certifications. The college is seeking professors for its Newark and West Caldwell campuses.

Also Tuesday, union workers representing trades including laundry and food service will be joined by representatives of other groups including the NAACP and CASA for a march and rally prior to the Newark Public Schools Advisory Board business meeting. The marchers will be demanding fair contracts, an end to privatization and for no additional school closures.
