Newark Man, 43, Killed on Lincoln Avenue

Authorities are investigating the killing of a 43-year-old city man Friday night, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Department said in a statement.

Lorenzo Calhoun, 43, was shot on the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue around 10:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene about a half-hour later.

The investigation was still ongoing Saturday, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly of the Prosecutor's Homicide Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 877- 847-7432 or 973-621-4586.
