Reward Offered in Connection with Newark Double-Murder
Authorities seeking info on man, vehicle seen in photos.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information on a “person or persons of interest” who may have been involved in a double-homicide last Friday, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Department announced.
Two men, Clifton Purkett, 36, of Newark, and 37-year-old Plainfield resident Rashid Pryor were shot and killed around 6 pm at the corner of Livingston Street and 18th Avenue.
Authorities are seeking information on the four-door silver Nissan Maxima with a sunroof as well as the man in the blue short seem walking towards the vehicle. Pictures of the vehicle and of the man walking towards it are attached to this story.
