Drake Beats Castronova For District 6 County Committee

Putrino appears to be top voter-getting in uncontested races.

The contested seat in New Milford in Tuesday's primary was not for council, but for Democratic County Committeeman in District 6.

Unofficial results show incumbent Jimmy Drake leading challenger Arthur Castranova 32 to 26 votes, respectively. This count does not include absentee ballots.

Unofficial results also show that District 6 challenger Jean Greenwald trailing incumbent County Committeewoman Barbara Drake by two votes--28 to 30. This count does not include absentee ballots.

Running uncontested, incumbent Republican Councilman Howard Berner, who also serves as Council President, received 287 votes while his runningmate, former Councilman Peter Rebsch, received 290 votes. 

Incumbent Democratic Councilman Austin Ashley received 333 votes while his runningmate, former Councilman Michael Putrino, received 356 votes.

All of these votes are unofficial and do not include any of the absentee vote tallies.
