What Road in New Milford Needs a Speed Bump?
We asked Patch readers on Facebook what streets they thought needed a speed bump. Find out what your neighbors told us.

New Milford, N.J. - Over 9,000 fatalities occurred nationally during 2014 due to speeding according to the latest statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The data also shows a correlation between a driver’s age and the likelihood of a speed-related accident. As the age of a driver increases, their risk of being in an accident decreases. Men are also more likely to be at the wheel during a speeding accident, according to the study.
While the number of speed-related fatalities have continually decreased since 2005, speeding still remains an issue in many of our Patch communities, including New Milford. Readers suggested everything from increased police presence to more stop signs to building less housing to keep traffic at bay.

- "Shea"

- "Trensch! Milford!"
- "I'll take a fully paved street instead of a speed bump."
- "Milford Ave. and Mack Pl."
- "I forgot the name of the street, but it's between Borough Hall and the Bank of America."
- "How about the boulevard. You should see them speed down this street."
- "Columbia!" It's the cut-through to and from the train station. And now that it's paved, it's like a NASCAR track!"
- "Look how fast people drive down by the recreation field, even when kids are around. Crazy."
- "Go up Faller Dr. from River Road. Go around the circle, and take your second right as if you were going straight, where it splits into an insane Bermuda Triangle of craziness."
- "Trenton St. by Monmouth! Cars whiz through my block to beat the River Rd. lights to take a shortcut. I can't tell you how many times cars didn't even slow down while I was walking my dog. I've seen buses take this shortcut, too."
- "Ryeside Ave. from Duke Rd. to Manor Rd., lots of kids play outside, and cars drive by going at least 40 mph and all those parent picking up their kids from school."
