Car Crashes into Democratic Headquarters

A Franklin Lakes man accidentally crashed his car into the Oakland Democratic Headquarters at about 3 p.m. Saturday, according to council candidate Peter Kikot.

The man had apparently been shopping at the strip mall on Ramapo Valley Road where the headquarters is located, Kikot said. When he was ready to leave, the man accidentally put his Cadillac into forward instead of reverse and crashed forward into the front of the building.

A window was broken and a brick wall was damaged in the crash. The car was towed away from the scene.

Oakland Police officials were not immediately available for comment.
