Somers Point Bayfest

The 24th annual Somers Point Bayfest will take place Saturday, April 28 on Historic Bay Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

The City of Somers Point and the Somers Point Bayfest Committee, along with area sponsors, make this long-standing annual Somers Point tradition happen, filling 14 blocks along Bay Avenue with music, food, crafters and fun-filled family activities. The City is expecting more that 30,000 thousand residents and visitors to flock to Bay Avenue this year to enjoy four live musical bands, 38 food vendors and more than 120 crafters, as well as lots to do for the kids including, bounce tents and a touch tank from the Atlantic City Aquarium.

The Somers Point Bayfest first started 24 years ago as a celebration of Earth Day, and they still maintain that tradition by featuring environmental groups to help inform the public about several issues we face in today’s world.

In addition to educating the public, Bayfest gives back to the community as well. Profits from the festival will go to projects in the Somers Point area for the residents. Some of the past projects Bayfest has supported include improvements to the Bud Kern Field, the installation of a new playground on the public beach, and new banners lining Historic Bay Avenue.

Parking for Bayfest will be available at the Jordan Road School, located on 129 Jordan Road, and Fire House #1, located on 1 Bethel Road. Also there are several places to accommodate the visitors, such as Marriott-Residence Inn, Budget Inn and Economy Motel, to name a few.
