Meeting Set For Wonderland Rehab In Ocean City
The Planning Board will decide whether or not the Wonderland property should be designated as an area in need of rehabilitation.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Planning Board will decide whether the Wonderland property should be designated as an area in need of rehabilitation in early 2026.
At their reorganization meeting on Jan. 7, the board will also discuss the Wonderland property. Note that this is only regarding the rehabilitation designation. It has nothing to do with its zoning or potential plans.
If approved, the designation would allow variances for the potential ICONA in Wonderland luxury hotel.

A report shows that parts of the property are in poor condition and would cost millions to repair, according to Planning Board documents.
"Although the cost of repairs is not a direct statutory criterion for designating an Area in Need of Rehabilitation, these costs relative to the value of the property may lend support to the argument that the area is in need of municipal intervention to prevent further decline," documents read.

Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting. It will be held Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. in Ocean City Music Pier.
