Miss New Jersey Pageant Begins With Preliminary Rounds

The Miss New Jersey Pageant began Thursday night with preliminary rounds and the first set of winners are in:

• Kaitlyn Schoeffel, Miss Avalon, Egg Harbor Township, a student at Montclair University. Schoeffel's jazz dance to "The Way You Make Me Feel" topped Thursday's talent competition. 
• Courtney Charatsaris, Miss Cape Shores, Totowa, a graduate of Montclair State University. Charatsaris won the evening wear category.
• Angelica Nardi, Miss Seashore Line, Millville, a student at Cumberland County College. Nardi won the swimsuit competition.

The preliminary rounds continue at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Friday, June 15) with contestants rotating among the three categories, and three new winners named.

The pageant finale and the crowning of Miss New Jersey is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16. All competitions are on the .
