NJ Man Charged In Ghost Gun Shooting After Police Standoff

The Atlantic City man was previously wanted by police in connection with a shots-fired incident several weeks ago, police said.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - An Atlantic City man previously wanted by police in connection with a shots-fired incident several weeks ago was arrested Wednesday following a police foot chase, police said.

Kenneth Marlow, 22, of Atlantic City, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain persons not to possess weapons, possession of a ghost gun, resisting arrest, and obstruction.

The criminal charges stem from a shots-fired incident that occurred on Nov. 5 around 10:28 p.m., police said, in which Marlow was captured on video surveillance firing a handgun. There were no reported injuries from the incident, police said.

On Wednesday, Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Detectives Alberto Valles, Christian Ivanov, Christopher Dodson, and Eric Evans were patrolling near South Carolina and Baltic Avenues when they observed Marlow.

As the detectives approached the suspect, Marlow ran westbound through an empty lot towards Tennessee Avenue, with detectives pursuing Marlow on foot.

Marlow was also seen tossing a satchel before he ran into an apartment building in the 100 block of North Tennessee Avenue, where he refused to exit the building.

Marlow was subsequently contacted by crisis negotiators via cell phone, with negotiators convincing Marlow to surrender and exit the apartment building after an hour and a half, police said. He was later remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The satchel Marlow discarded was later found to contain a 9mm ‘ghost gun,’ a weapon that lacks a serial number, rendering it hard to trace.
