NJ Sailboat Missing For 9 Days With 2 Men Aboard, Coast Guard Says

The 30-foot Catalina sailboat that set sail for Florida from Cape May has been missing since Dec. 3, the U.S. Coast Guard said Monday.

CAPE MAY, NJ - A 30-foot Catalina sailboat that set sail for Florida from Cape May has now been missing for nine days, the U.S. Coast Guard said Monday.

Dubbed "Atrevida II" (NJ 7033HN), the sailing vessel was last seen on Dec. 3 when it left Oregon Inlet in North Carolina on its way to Jupiter, Fla. Two individuals, Kevin Hyde, 64, and Joe DiTommasso, 76, were last seen aboard, the Coast Guard said.

The vessel is described as having a bluish-purple hull, with a white superstructure and white sails, the office said.

Atrevida II may have stopped in Morehead City, North Carolina, the Coast Guard added.
