Ocean City Coronavirus Update: These ShopRites Got COVID Vaccines

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Here are the latest coronavirus updates around Ocean City and Cape May County.

Cases

The Cape May County Health Department reported the following in Ocean City as of Friday — figures reported last Saturday are in parenthesis.

• community resident active cases: 79 (54)
• community residents cleared off quarantine: 441 (418)
• community deaths: zero (zero)
• nonresident active cases: zero (zero)
• longterm-care active cases: zero (one)
• longterm-care cleared off quarantine: 52 (52)
• longterm-care deaths: 12 (zero)

The CMCHD reported the following county-wide numbers as of Friday — Jan. 2 figures in parenthesis:

• community resident active cases: 614 (485)
• community residents cleared off quarantine: 3,692 (3,456)
• community deaths: one (three)
• nonresident active cases: six (seven)
• longterm-care active cases: 17 (35)
• longterm-care cleared off quarantine: 328 (310)
• longterm-care deaths: zero (one)

Recent Updates

• ShopRite announced Monday that 39 pharmacies across New Jersey are set to administer COVID-19 vaccines to healthcare workers, including the ShopRites in Somers Point and Marmora. MORE.
• United Methodist Communities at the Shores in Ocean City began offering COVID-19 vaccines to their residents and healthcare staff last week. The Shores is aiming to vaccinate 75 percent of their residents and staff—287 people in the nursing home—against the coronavirus. MORE.
