We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:

  • "Parking too close to the corners-can't see anything until you edge out and then it's too late you are in an accident."
  • "Too many bikers who think they own the road. Pedestrians aren't a whole lot better. What a nightmare the summer is for year rounders"
  • "Flooding. Not only is it a very real danger to the neighborhoods involved, but it exposes Ocean City to the ridicule of the nation, which will be impossible to erase."
  • "Vacationers both in a vehicle or a bike are not aware of laws for crossing street!"
  • "Pot holes every where for cars/bikers/ pedestrians not to mention nails in my tires every other week."
  • "Speed and lack of attention. We need more lights in order to help the flow of traffic and help pedestrians cross the rode safely."
  • "Lack of lighting along the streets by the boardwalk. People walk right out into the street and assume you see them at night. Scary to drive at times!"
  • "This may not be a safety issue but more then just 3 ramps off and on Boardwalk to beach would be great. It's extremely hard to lift a beach cart full of items down a set of 6 steps and hold on to your children."
  • "Heroin in the schools. The epidemic no one wants to talk about."
  • "Bikes, pedestrians and shoobies feeding the seagulls."
