Street Rods Take Over the Boardwalk This Weekend
A display of classic cars highlights a weekend of activities in Ocean City.
Street rod enthusiasts from throughout the East Coast will bring their colorful cars to Ocean City this weekend.
They will display their vehicles on the Boardwalk and at the Fifth Street Parking Lot during the 35th annual Shore Rod Run.
Cars will be parked at the Fifth Street lot (between the Boardwalk and the ) from Friday afternoon (Sept. 7) to 1 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 9). There will be a Boardwalk display on Saturday (Sept. 8) from noon to 4 p.m.

A street rod is any car manufactured in 1972 or earlier that has been modified with more modern parts. Owners are creative about how they enhance their vehicles and often decorate them with colorful, painted designs.

A craft show is set for the  pavilion 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. A Fashion Show is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday inside the Music Pier. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
The Van Dells will entertain at the Music Pier 8 p.m. Saturday. The popular band plays hits from the 1950s and 1960s. Admission is $20, and the public is invited. Tickets are available at the Music Pier Box Office. Call 609-525-9248 or access ocnj.us.

A 5K Walk to raise funds for children in FOSTER CARE starts at the Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Registration 12:30 p.m., walk 1:30 p.m. Call (609) 977-4880.
