Strong Winds and Clouds Take Away From Mild Air on Sunday
The waves, wind and weather at dawn in Ocean City. A survival guide for surfers, runners, homeowners and all those who can't wait for another summer.

The air temperatures are supposed to reach a high of 48 degrees today, but with some clouds hanging around and a strong southwest wind brewing, it feels much colder.
We shouldn't complain. Overall, we're in a nice warming trend that could bring us temperatures in the 60s by late in the week. But on Sunday morning, it's still at the freezing mark, and we're guessing the wind will mess with our Boardwalk run today as much as it did on Saturday.
The surf is still down, and it's hard to imagine that will change by the end of the day.

The summer countdown says: 107 days until Memorial Day!
Surf:Â The winds are light on Sunday morning, but forecasters say they'll pick up out of the southwest and probably bend onshore a little bit, sustained at 18 to 25 mph with gusts up over 30 mph. Right now, there are no waves to be found. Might be worth a look later today or on Monday, depending on what exactly the wind does. The ocean water temperature on Sunday morning at Steel Pier in Atlantic City is 37.2 degrees.

Boardwalk:Â If our run on Saturday is any indication, heading north from 23rd Street to First Street will be really fun on Sunday. Getting back: another story. And sometimes those southwest winds in the forecast come off the ocean a bit, making it that much colder. A surprising number of people were out strolling the Boardwalk. A good sign of better things to come.
Homes:Â No worries today.
