Volunteer Team To Help Ocean City Residents Sign Up For Vaccines

The Community Services Department has assembled a volunteer team to help Ocean City residents register online for COVID-19 vaccinations.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Community Services Department has assembled a team of staff members and volunteers to help Ocean City residents complete the online registration for COVID-19 vaccinations.

The team will ensure that residents are registered with the New Jersey State Vaccine Registration System, which puts people in line for vaccinations in Cape May County as they become available.

They will also attempt to help residents schedule an appointment at the megasite in Atlantic City, by helping people obtain their random number needed for the selection process.

“Our team will do its best to get you an appointment, but please understand that this assistance program offers no guarantee of receiving a vaccination. Vaccine supplies remain limited,” Mayor Jay Gillian said Friday in his weekly update.

Beginning Monday, residents in need of this service can call 609-399-6111 or stop by the Ocean City Community Center, City Hall Welcome Center or 46th Street Welcome Center.

This form includes some of the information volunteers will need to help people get registered and scheduled.

People over 65 and residents ages 16 to 64 with medical conditions that put them at risk are currently eligible to receive the vaccine.

“Even if we can help only a few residents at a time, this effort will be worthwhile. I know we’re all anxious to be safe and get back to normal,” Gillian said.
