Assemblywoman Wagner, County Officials Among Birdsall Donation Recipients
The bankrupt engineering firm illegally donated to numerous politicians across New Jersey, according to a Star-Ledger report.
Numerous Bergen County politicians received donations made illegally by engineering firm Birdsall Services Group between 2008 and 2012, The Star-Ledger reported Sunday.
The company allegedly made more than 1,000 donations during that time worth more than $1 million, while raking in public contracts worth $84 million, according to the report.
The donations broke party lines, the paper reported.

Among the local recipients were Paramus' Assemblywoman Connie Wagner, Fair Lawn's Sen. Bob Gordon, Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan, Freeholder David Ganz and Clerk John Hogan, as well as numerous groups like the District 38 Democrats and Bergen County Republican Organization.
The firm made a total of 80 donations in Bergen County, according to the Star-Ledger.

Seven company officials were indicted earlier this year on charges that they allegedly made the illegal donations by having employees make the donations, then reimbursing them. New Jersey law sets a maximum political campaign donation of $300.
